  • Applicants must currently be in either late elementary, middle, or high school in New York or New Jersey. Applications from younger or older students will not be accepted. (Note: Students under 10 years old must be accompanied by a parent or trusted guardian for rehearsals and concerts unless permitted otherwise by a guardian)

  • Over 1 year of musical practice, and experience on a single instrument 

  • A recording of at least one piece of music that encompasses the student's skill level (must be recorded within a year of the application)

Roles we are seeking:

  • AMBASSADORS:

    • As an ambassador, you are a leader who works to open branch of LIH within your school. You can then organize ensembles with fellow musicians from your school, performing at senior citizen homes around your area. Being an ambassador is a commitment, however, it allows you to start a new chapter of LIH within your own community, changing your surroundings for the better.

  • VOLUNTEERS:

    • As a volunteer, you work alongside ambassadors from your school to perform at senior citizen homes in your community. As a volunteer, you have the ability to make significant change and impact through means of your music without carrying all the responsibilities of an ambassador.
